Details: The 5th annual Prairie View / Grambling State Fair Classic Golf
Scramble has been a Classic mainstay and Golfers delight for the past 4 years, with over 280 golfers annually it is touted as the largest single day Golf Tournament in the Country for both male and Female golfers alike, proceeds from the Classic Golf Scramble will be awarded to the (Football) Scholarship Endowment of both respective Universities. The Golf classic is the Highpoint of the Prairie View / Grambling Football weekend. The Golfing and Social Mixing will culminate with Annual pairings Party at Brooklyn’s Jazz Bar and Grill this event is the place where Sponsors, Celebrity Golfers and Tournament players can get together and share common Interest. The Night will be hosted by Comedian Joe Torry with celebrities Omorosa, KoKo Brown, Fred “The Hammer” Williamson, and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown just to name a few. The Social is scheduled to begin Thursday October 2, 2008 @ 7:30 PM @ Brooklyn’s Jazz Bar and Grill.

Details: The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic is the largest African American event in Texas and the third largest African American sporting event in the United States. Grambling and Prairie View will face-off for the historical classic on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the Cotton Bowl. The Grambling Tigers, lead by first year head coach Rod Broadway, come to the Classic attitude of continuing their winning domination of the contest. The Prairie View Panthers, lead by head coach Henry Frazier III, at press time are riding high on expectation of changing the traditional game outcome with a 2-0 season record.

Corporate sponsors for this year's Classic include title sponsor Southwest Airlines, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, United States Navy, and McDonald's.
